More than 40 Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) have jumped on board a new craze designed to get active while having fun. The brains behind the fun ‘40-Second Challenge’ is Peta Haynes, the sports coordinator at St Christopher's Catholic Primary School Panania. Giving from the heart
From doctors to cleaners, all staff at Fairfield Hospital have been gifted hand-stitched felt hearts to keep in their pockets or handbags. The 1000 hearts were made with love by the Minnie Vinnies at Marion Catholic Primary School Horsley Park. The school’s Family Educator, Leonie Casha, said she hopes the hearts will remind hospital staff that their hard work is appreciated. Sydney Catholic Schools’ principal Damien Carlton has been honoured with an Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) NSW Leadership Award 2020. ACEL NSW honours educational leaders who have made a significant contribution to education, educational leadership and the improvement of child or student learning outcomes, teacher professional practice and/or effectiveness.
