Step back in time
In 1880 it was not uncommon to see a sisterhood of nuns en route from their convent home in Pitt Street, Sydney, to St James Catholic Primary School Glebe where they taught. Accolades keep adding up
Who hasn’t seen a kindergartener with a backpack so big it’s almost dragging on the ground. Four kindies at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School Fairfield have taken matters into their own hands and designed and then made a 3-D model of a school bag that’s much easier on their little backs. Kids speak up
Every child is a public speaker at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School Kingsgrove. This is after all 440 students, from Kindergarten to Year 6, took part in the school’s first public speaking competition, “Speak Up.” School assistant principal, Margrita Cutrupi, wanted every child to be able to speak confidently and clearly in front of an audience, so she came up with the idea of a competition. “Public speaking promotes confidence in the children to communicate their ideas clearly and concisely,” Mrs Cutrupi said. “It has been a great program for the school because every child was given...
