Excellence in Initial Teacher Education Scholarship

The Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Scholarship program supports high performing ITE students currently enrolled in a Master of Teaching or in their third or fourth year of an Undergraduate Teaching Program.

About the Program

Scholarships are available annually, with each offering a reimbursement of 75% of related tuition fees. Mentoring and full time employment at SCS is guaranteed upon successful completion and relevant accreditation.

The Excellence in ITE Scholarship has a particular focus on those specialising in:

Religious Education

Mathematics

Science

Technology

Literacy and Numeracy

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education

These Scholarships are aimed at supporting students currently enrolled in an ITE program at an Australian University, in Primary or Secondary Education.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarships are open to high-performing Initial Teacher Education Students currently enrolled in Master of Teaching, or the 3rd or 4th Year of an Undergraduate Teaching program.

In addition you will have:

Passed both elements of LANTITE

Successful Professional Experience Placement reports (where relevant)

Recommendations from your current Principal or employer and Professional Experience Placement Supervising Teacher (if relevant)

What’s Being Offered?

10 Scholarships available annually.

Reimbursement of 75% of tuition fees related to your full time ITE program.

Final year mentoring support provided by a Highly Accomplished, or Lead Teacher.

Membership of a Sydney Catholic Schools Future Teacher Community of Practice.

Employment with Sydney Catholic Schools, part time or as a casual whilst studying.

3 years indentured full time employment with Sydney Catholic Schools upon completion of study, subject to achieving Accreditations.

Future Teachers Scholarship

The Future Teachers Scholarship supports high-performing Year 12 students aspiring to careers in Primary or Secondary Education. Scholarships offer $5,000 per year throughout the degree, plus a one-off $2,000 upfront payment.
