Contractor Induction, Check-In, and Compliance

Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is committed to safe, compliant environments for students, staff, visitors, and contractors. All property and facilities engaged contractors, tradespersons, and service providers must complete an online induction and check in/out when attending SCS sites.
This page provides all the information needed to safely and efficiently attend SCS sites.

Contractor Management Overview

To ensure consistent and high safety standards across all schools, SCS uses the Cm3 Onsite system for:

Online Inductions: Complete required safety training before arriving onsite.

QR Code Check-In and Check-Out: Scan the site QR code to record attendance and departure, even when reception is closed.

Automated Compliance Checks: Cm3 verifies a company’s compliance before entry is permitted.

Consistent Safety Standards: All schools follow the same induction requirements, supplemented with site-specific details.

Online Inductions

All contractors must complete the Cm3 Onsite Induction before entering an SCS site.

Hazardous materials awareness

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements

Contractors must complete the general induction once per year, and a separate site-specific induction annually for each school they attend. If any changes or additions are made to an induction, it will reset and must be completed again.

Check-In and Check-Out Process

When attending an SCS site, all contractors are required to check in and out using Cm3 Onsite.

Check-In Steps

1.

Scan the QR Code: Use a mobile device to scan the Cm3 QR code displayed at reception or designated entry points.

2.

Follow the Prompts: Complete check-in on the mobile browser. Keep the browser open to display the check-in pass.

3.

Notify the SCS Contact: Inform the designated site contact upon arrival.

Check-Out Steps

1.

Use the Browser: Return to the Cm3 check-in page and select the check-out feature when leaving the site.

2.

Notify the SCS Contact: Inform the designated site contact upon departure.

This process ensures accurate attendance records and supports site safety in the event of an emergency.

Compass Sign-In

The Cm3 system does not replace Compass sign-in. When reception is open, contractors must still:

Sign in using Compass at the school reception desk.

Wear the issued visitor badge in addition to completing Cm3 check-in.

Compliance Requirements

A contractors Cm3 profile is validated at each check-in, confirming:

Valid Public Liability Insurance

Workers Compensation and Professional Indemnity Insurance (where required)

Minimum coverage levels that meet SCS requirements

Contractors who do not meet compliance requirements will not be permitted onsite.

Safe Schools Expectations and Working with Children Checks

SCS is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and maintains a zero-tolerance approach to any form of child abuse.

Contractors Not Engaged in Child-Related Work

Completion of the Cm3 online induction is required, including the Child Safe Communities Declaration.

Contractors must not interact with students in any way, including verbally, physically, or through non-verbal gestures.

Any work-related communication must be directed to an SCS staff member or designated SCS representative.

Breaches may result in immediate removal from the site and potential termination of the contract.

Contractors should contact their SCS representative to clarify responsibilities or obligations before entering SCS premises, if needed.

Contractors Engaged in Child-Related Work

Contractors must be screened, verified, and cleared to work with children before visiting any SCS school.

For more information on the verification process, visit the SCS School Visitor WWCC Clearance site.
