About the role

The Google Workspace Administrator will provide technical and analytical advice and support with primary responsibilities including: managing user accounts, controlling access to Google Workspace services, configuring policies and settings, providing user support, managing and monitoring data, and ensuring efficient collaboration within the organisation. It is a vital role in maintaining security, compliance, and productivity across the Google Workspace domains. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • user access management 
  • policy and settings management 
  • Google Chromebook management 
  • training and support
  • monitoring and data management
  • conducting investigations within the Google environment as directed by the Director of ITS
  • being rostered on-call to assess and respond to emergency calls and messages and, being contactable and available out of work hours to respond to urgent matters 
  • administering and supporting SCS ITS Google Workspace needs to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) and the Operational Level Agreements (OLA)
  • professionally and efficiently respond to ITS incidents and service requests via the ITS service management tool (ServiceNow)
  • acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Google Workspace Administration.

About you

The successful candidate will also possess the following:

  • Australian Tertiary qualifications equivalent to AQF level 7 (Bachelor degree) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology 
  • proven extensive hands-on experience in development and the operational management of the following programming languages: Windows PowerShell, JSON and Python
  • proven hands-on experience in supporting and administering Google Workspace deployment
  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certificate 
  • a valid NSW Drivers’ License and access to a car 
  • practical knowledge and experience in automating solutions and migrations using code scripting
  • proven experience in carrying out support and administration tasks in accordance to ITIL incident and change management practices
  • high order interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the 
  • ability to respond to sensitive issues, exercise sound judgement and maintain confidence
  • ability to work autonomously without supervision and work effectively in a team
  • analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to research and to apply problem-solving skills to complex technical problems
  • willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.
