About the role

The Finance Systems Specialist is responsible for the effective configuration, operation and maintenance of the financial systems across the Central Office, Network and Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) using TechnologyOne. This includes the identification and implementation of improvements to systems and processes to ensure the systems continue to meet the needs of the business and continually enhance financial operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Process & System Improvements

  • developing ongoing strategies for process improvements across all systems using best practice methodologies
  • working with key stakeholders to develop technical solutions for process and system improvements and project manage their implementation
  • working closely with the user base in defining better functional support and delivery processes
  • managing systems testing and user training on system changes and upgrades
  • managing relationships with ICT, CeNet, Technology One and Finance in relation to system issues and/or projects.

BAU Support

  • resolving technical issues relating to systems supported by the Financial Management Systems (FMS) Teams through the provision of technical support to users
  • managing the data transfer between TechnologyOne and other systems supported by the the FMS Team including, but not limited to: Compass (Student Information System), ExpenseMePro (Expense Management System)
  • maintaining up to date technical knowledge of TechnologyOne
  • supporting and managing cases allocated to Finance in ServiceNow, and ensuring cases are responded to and resolved as per set KPIs.

Other

  • ensuring all work activities align with SCS’ vision, mission, values and Capability Framework
  • reporting all concerns regarding child safety and allegations of inappropriate conduct to the line manager and the SCS Child Safety team. SCS is a child-safe environment and all concerns regarding child safety and allegations of inappropriate conduct will be treated seriously

About you

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or IT or related discipline
  • extensive experience in managing and implementing process improvements using technology to support a complex operational environment
  • experience in business analysis, project management and system integration
  • ability to work through user issues, identify the cause and apply practical solutions
  • ability to document user requirements and solution design
  • ability to prioritise work and deliver on time
  • strong communication and relationship skills to maximise internal and external relationships
  • Finance Systems Administration experience in a large organisation
  • detailed experience with Microsoft Applications, Advanced Excel and database and reporting tools
  • ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • experience in customer service and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders.
