Catholic Schools Performing Arts (CaSPA) represents a unique Sydney Catholic Schools commitment to student learning, collaboration and growth through the performing arts.
A range of co-curricular skill-building and performance opportunities are available in dance, drama and music that value-add to existing school-based programs.
Students from upper-primary to Year 12 can access student performance ensembles, HSC and gifted education workshops, touring ensembles, the Goodjarga program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and more.
Sydney Catholic Schools Eisteddfod
The Sydney Catholic Schools Eisteddfod involves students from more than 130 schools competing across 12 days as soloists and in ensembles, in the areas of Dance, Drama, Singing, and Instrumental Music. There is an invitational Showcase at the end of the Eisteddfod season, for some of the winners to perform for their school communities.
The first Archdiocesan musical was performed at Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood in 2021.
The musical production is an opportunity for triple threat performers from Years 6 to 11, to hone their craft and participate in a professional production under the direction of experienced educators and industry professionals.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 also have the opportunity to attend exciting holiday workshops held at Southern Cross Catholic College in the areas of Dance, Drama and Music. Workshops vary from Higher School Certificate (HSC) Masterclasses, to singing, playing, acting and dancing workshops for primary and secondary students that range in difficulty from beginner to advanced.
