Sydney Catholic Schools stands with communities across Australia in marking National Child Protection Week (7-13 September 2025).

The week shines a light on the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where children and young people are respected, cared for, and protected.

At Sydney Catholic Schools, safeguarding remains central to our mission of providing quality Catholic education. In 2025, we have strengthened our commitment with the release of a new Child Safeguarding Policy, providing clearer processes for reporting, strengthened professional standards, and enhanced support pathways for students and families.

Danielle Cronin, Executive Director of Sydney Catholic Schools, said National Child Protection Week is an opportunity to reaffirm our responsibilities to fostering environments where children feel seen, heard and supported.

“Every child has the right to feel safe and supported. At Sydney Catholic Schools, we are committed to ensuring that safeguarding is not just a policy, but a lived reality in every classroom, playground, and school community,” she said.

“Ensuring that every student feels safe is at the core of who we are as Catholic educators. When students know they are safe and supported, they are free to learn, grow, and flourish.”

Throughout the week, our schools will highlight the importance of vigilance, awareness, and collaboration in building safe environments.
