Nearly 1,500 students from more than 120 schools will take to the pool for the 2023 Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) Swimming Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in Homebush on Monday, 27 March.
Students from both primary and secondary will swim on the same day, creating a festival-like atmosphere at one of the country’s premier sporting venues.
The Championships will also proudly feature multi-class athletes from across the archdiocese, with 18 students having competed in both primary and secondary events last year.
Swimmers at this year’s Championships will compete to progress to the Catholic Schools NSW Championships.
For primary students, a NSW Combined Primary School (NSWCPS) MacKillop team will then be selected to attend the NSW Primary School Sports Association (NSWPSSA) Swimming Championships.
Meanwhile, qualifying secondary swimmers will compete at the NSW Combined High Schools championship.
Following that, the top swimmers will compete to be crowned the best in the country at the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships later this year.
WATCH THE CHAMPIONSHIPS LIVE ON KOMMUNITY TV
In great news for sports fans and all of us who love watching our children participate, SCS has partnered with Kommunity TV to expand our live stream offering.
Our new partnership gives parents access to live streams once subscribed to The Daily Telegraph and enables us to broadcast a wider range of events.
This is great news for the world of sports across SCS; our Kommunity TV partnership empowers our parents and families to stream more sports live than SCS would have been able to deliver alone.
We are looking forward to sharing all the action from 12 different sports in 2023:
- Water Polo
- Touch Football
- Rugby League
- Cross Country
Parents can sign up for access to watch the Swimming Championships and more live throughout the year here.
