In 1962, the new parish of St Therese’s, Padstow was created, with Fr Timothy O’Carroll was the first parish priest. With the support of Fr O’Carroll and the parish priest of Revesby, Fr Patrick Carr, the Sisters of St Joseph agreed to start a parish school at Padstow. In 1978, the Sisters of St Joseph withdrew from the school, with the first lay Principal appointed in 1979. St Therese is now a single-stream co-educational school from Kindergarten to Year 6. The students come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
