St Joan of Arc Catholic Primary School Haberfield is excited to be entering into 2025 with a refreshed new logo and visual identity that reflects the school’s vision and values.
It comes after a period in which the school has also undergone several upgrades to its facilities to help further enhance students’ learning experience.
In the past year, four classrooms have been built, together with a new library, dedicated art, music and media rooms, as well as a new playground.
It’s all part of St Joan of Arc’s commitment to providing students with a holistic education that gives them access to a range of different educational and recreational opportunities.
NEW YEAR, NEW LOOK
The new logo pays homage to the school’s charism, which is inspired by two remarkable women: St Joan of Arc, one of history’s great martyrs, and Nano Nagle, an Irish woman who used her wealth to provide homes and schools for the homeless children of the city of Cork in Ireland.
Stylised in the school colours, the flame symbolises three key elements:
- The fire that took St Joan of Arc’s life, a reminder of her unwavering faith. St. Joan of Arc’s fleur-de-lis also sits atop a crucifix, signifying strength through Christ.
- The power of the Holy Spirit, inspiring and guiding us in our daily lives.
- The lantern that Nano Nagle carried throughout her time, lighting her way as she served the poor and educated children.
The flame itself is reminiscent of the Sydney Catholic Schools logo, uniting St Joan of Arc in faith and purpose with the wider community,
The logo encapsulates the spirit of the school’s motto of ‘Forward with Courage’, inspiring students, staff and families alike to live a life of faith and service to others.
It will soon be unveiled across signage and branding, including on a redesigned, modern school uniform.
MOVING BOLDLY INTO THE FUTURE
Amanda Gahan, Principal at St Joan of Arc Haberfield, said the new logo underlines the school’s forward-thinking approach.
Much has been done in the last 12 months in terms of upgrading facilities but also in continuing to elevate the school’s teaching and learning programs.
“It’s been a transformative year for our school and so we wanted to redesign our logo in a way that aligned with that progress,” she said.
“We wanted to be bold and contemporary but at the same time stay true to our proud history and charism. We’re very pleased with the end result.
“St Joan of Arc has always enjoyed such a strong connection with the wider school community and I’m sure our new look is something they will all take great pride in.
