Kiara Maguire is a passionate teacher at St Patrick’s College Sutherland, the very school she once attended. A proud alumna, she now works alongside former teachers who inspired her own path into education at Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS).

Born and raised in the Sutherland Shire, Kiara first pursued studies in Law and Commerce before realising her true calling lay elsewhere. She transferred to Notre Dame University, where she discovered her passion for teaching and hasn’t looked back since.

Kiara teaches Legal Studies, Commerce, History, and Geography, and is a strong advocate for critical thinking, creativity, and compassionate leadership in the classroom. Her teaching journey also includes time in a rural Indian village, where she developed a deep appreciation for adaptable, student-centred learning.

With a philosophy grounded in Catholic values, Kiara focuses on building students’ academic success alongside their moral and spiritual growth. Through her involvement in the Newman Selective Gifted Education Program, she supports high-achieving learners in reaching their full potential.

Inspired by her mother, a primary school teacher also within SCS, Kiara brings warmth, innovation, and meaning to her teaching — helping young people grow in knowledge, character, and faith.
