About the Role

The School ITS Officer acts as the first point of call for all IT-related issues at the Schools. You will be installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person, in response to a prioritised ticketing system.

The ideal candidate will be a professional and skilled IT Support person experienced with dealing with Level 1 and Level 2 support queries.

Key responsibilities include:

The School ITS Officer is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to;

  • providing on-site technical support in relation to end-user computing, data network, classroom audio visual, and IT systems issues in accordance with Service Level Agreements
  • participating in the deployment of various ICT projects
  • configuring, supporting and troubleshooting Windows, Apple and ChromeOS software environments
  • auditing and maintaining schools’ data networks
  • liaising with the Supervisor of the Network and School Executives to assess the ICT needs within the schools and contribute to the continual improvement of ICT Services
  • managing quotations on hardware, assets and software as required through Sydney Catholic Schools approved suppliers
  • ICT asset management (both hardware and software)
  • ensuring software licensing is current and a register of the software is consistently maintained to a high level of accuracy
  • managing a strict backup schedule and ensuring adherence to established backup and recovery procedures.

About You

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • demonstrated experience in customer facing desktop and network access support with the ability to troubleshoot Windows, Apple and ChromeOS operating systems
  • demonstrated experience configuring and supporting fundamental Windows Server services (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File and Print, Backup)
  • proficiency and understanding of communications between computer systems across layer of the OSI Model
  • exceptional communication and relationship-building skills and customer service excellence
  • a Post-secondary and/or relevant industry certification, eg. MSCA, CCNA, Aruba
  • an understanding of ITIL v3/4 Foundation framework
  • flexibility and initiative in managing workflow with an ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a larger team
  • a current driver’s licence and daily access to a car
  • willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS.
