The Greatest Gift In The World

The humble shepherd walked hesitantly towards an old stable. He had been told by angels that there he would find the, ‘Greatest Gift in the World’. He wondered why, he of all people, was one of the first to be told. Entering the stable, with his young companion, he was filled with hope and humility. Mary told the shepherds, “He is for all mankind, he is here to save us all”. Hearing these words the old shepherd reached out his hand and gently touched the sleeping King. The focal point of my artwork is to show that there is hope and grace waiting for everyone. Like the shepherd, I have hope for my future, which deepens my faith knowing that God is going to help me every step of the way. The atmosphere in my artwork, influenced by ‘The Nativity’ film, was created by using soft, warm hues and flowing line work in coloured pencil.
