On the feast of the Annunciation, 25 March 2001, Holy Spirit Parish was created and Fr Meagher appointed parish priest. On Wednesday 30 January 2002, Holy Spirit Primary School opened in demountable classrooms on a temporary site at Main Street, Carnes Hill, leased from Liverpool Council. The opening enrolment was 42 boys and girls: a Kindergarten class of 25, a composite Kindergarten/Year 1/Year 2 class of 17 children and 5 staff members. Today, over 46 cultural groups make up the mosaic of our school community, with the majority of students and families from a language background other than English.
