The term ‘masterpiece’ has taken on a whole new meaning at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Primary School Mt Pritchard.
Teachers have spent their holidays, weekends, and before and after school with paint brushes in hand, transforming blank walls around the school into works of art.
Amanda Henderson, Biljana Ostojic, Natalie Ihlow, Adriana Cosic, Natalie Bittar and Jenny Phan started with the walls outside the kindy classrooms, creating brightly-coloured scenes of happy children running, numbers, books and an image of Jesus.
“The inspiration for the artwork came from creating images which we believed depicted life at our school,” kindergarten teacher, Stephanie Sultana, said.
She said students were delighted to come back to a bright, cheery and vibrant learning environment after the COVID-19 disruption.
“They are all now eagerly waiting for the next location of the art masterpieces,” said Ms Sultana.
