Australia’s first Saint, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, is canonised

The announcement of St Mary MacKillop’s canonisation was made on 19 February 2010, with the canonisation taking place on 17 October 2010. This made her the first Australian to be recognised as a saint.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our schools and offices now stand. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
