The Role 

A brand new role has just been created within the IT Department at SCS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing enterprise IT application solution development, design, and implementation advice. Working closely with the IT and System Integration Projects team, the Solutions Architect will liaise with vendors and external stakeholders to evaluate both the technology and the commercial aspects of the service delivery for SCS.

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for:

  • partnering with stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers to provide ITS technical solutions architectures design based on the approved technology stack and capabilities
  • reviewing all deployed enterprise IT services to ensure they are fit for purpose, and secure and are being utilised to the maximum benefit of Sydney Catholic Schools
  • contributing to the IT systems and enterprise architecture practice maturity, delivery of architectural services and providing advice to projects, business units and senior leadership teams
  • developing and implementing new ITS systems and enterprise solutions to provide a longer-term technology view for the wider enterprise
  • managing Requests for Tender (RFT) or Request for Quote (RFQ) documents and processes
  • actively maintaining current technical and professional qualifications and certifications.

The Person 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
  • a strong consulting and technical solutions background
  • excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • the ability to provide advice over multiple technology domains 
  • good IT commercial knowledge/experience to be able to assess technology and evaluate commercial service delivery contracts.
