Digital Assets Officer

About the role

The Digital Assets Officer collaborates with key members of the organisation to create and implement the digital asset management strategy and vision for Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS), to support the organisation’s wider objectives and goals. The role works closely with the marketing and communications team to design, implement and continuously improve the digital asset management platform.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Managing the booking and scheduling of 3 photographers videographers and freelancers as required.
  • partnering with the marketing and communications team and relevant SCS stakeholders to lead the implementation of a data asset management solution, that includes guiding principles and prioritisation of the end-user experience, including asset search, upload/download and customisable template solutions across the SCS system
  • facilitating strategic decisions and the creation of a tactical plan surrounding implementation of DAMS processes and technology, including relevant organisation readiness and change management considerations, as well as integration with or migration of content and existing/enhanced processes and tools
  • developing and maintaining a metadata entry protocol
  • actively promoting data consistency to support common standards and analytics
  • providing systems training and support to colleagues and stakeholders
  • establishing periodic data verification review processes to ensure data accuracy and to support easy and consistent search and delivery of assets
  • crafting a 1-2 year roadmap for incremental process improvements of the DAMS pre and post-launch
  • assessing project key performance indicators post-launch, qualitatively and quantitatively.

About you

To excel in this role, you will possess;

  • minimum five years of experience managing a digital asset management system
  • Scheduling experience
  • minimum three years experience in project management, technology-related implementations, and/or a strategic planning role
  • strong knowledge of DAM and metadata taxonomy and best practices, strategy principles and concepts for assets and digital content
  • strong ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Analytics or other tools, HTML/CSS, JIRA or other project management tools
  • demonstrated experience in asset curation
  • demonstrated high-level analytical skills, with the ability to apply data in providing solutions and driving strategic objectives
  • demonstrated high-level attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree
  • active engagement in the data asset management community
  • photo editing experience and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
  • a current driver’s licence
  • is a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of their relationship with Jesus Christ.
