Sydney Catholic Schools has a vibrant Visual Arts program that caters for all students, from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Students of all ages can access holiday workshops that explore their creativity in a fun and supportive environment. HSC students have access to experienced HSC teachers and markers through our Masterclass workshop series that explores and develops skills required to complete the HSC written paper, as well as the opportunity to receive valuable feedback on their portfolios of work.
Students also have the opportunity to develop skills in media arts through film-making experiences, and competitions such as Sydney Catholic Schools’ FilmFest. The short film competition has been run through the CaSPA program for many years, and has seen many talented students shine both individually and in teams.
SYDNEY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’ INAUGURAL PORTRAIT PRIZE
The Portrait Prize gives students the chance to recognise and appreciate someone well-known to them and who plays a significant role in their life by paying them one of the highest compliments – painting or drawing their portrait.
Congratulations to the four winners of the inaugural Portrait Prize, who have now been submitted to the Art Gallery of NSW in the Young Archie competition.
You can view the winners’ artworks, and all 211 of our entrants’ amazing depictions of the important people in their lives.
SYDNEY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS’ 2021 HSC VISUAL ARTS SHOWCASE
The HSC Visual Arts Showcase will be one of the highlights of our academic calendar: amidst the strains and pressures of HSC preparation, it offers the opportunity to admire and be moved by the creative impulse of our young artists across Sydney Catholic Schools. The range of media is broad and the quality of artistry sophisticated and perceptive.
