SCECS Regional OSHC Coordinator

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is a not-for-profit service catering for children and families from our Catholic parishes. Services provide high quality early childhood and school aged care. SCECS provides education and care within the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church with the intention of being an integral part of the local Catholic community.

SCECS are currently seeking a Regional Outside Schools Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinator to provide operational support to a cluster of OSHC services. The role is situated in Leichhardt NSW and involves daily travel to various services.

About the Role:

The Regional OSHC Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Support the induction of new OSHC staff
  • Supervise the effective day-to-day running of a network of SCECS OSHC services
  • Assist each service with program development and delivery
  • Create and support positive and cohesive relationships within and across SCECS teams
  • Manage and assist with coordination of events, such as training sessions for new staff and opening of new services across Sydney
  • Work with OSHC staff in their daily operations, supporting the documentation required for compliance
  • Ensure staffing ratio requirements are upheld at each service
  • Participation in informing programs of professional development required for child care staff
  • Manage database/spreadsheets tracking each service’s status in meeting Regulations and Standards

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Hold at least Certificate III in Childcare
  • Hold a current driver’s licence and own car
  • Have leadership experience in the OSHC/Early Childhood Service environment
  • Have the ability to articulate a vision for SCECS, and to lead and implement this vision across the Archdiocese
  • Have highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and judgment in problem solving and implementing change
  • Have exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to be flexible in a complex environment
  • Have the current knowledge of the Laws, Regulations and quality Standards that apply to OSHC
  • Be proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite of Programs and the Google platform

Desirable Criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate IV or Diploma in Childhood or above
  • Possess an operational understanding of the Standards and Regulations in Early Childcare
  • Have some familiarity with Child Care management databases (ei Hubworks, Quikkids)
