Team Leader: Shared Financial Services

The Executive Director of Catholic Schools invites applications for the following position:

Position Title:  Team Leader: Shared Financial Services
Location: Sydney Catholic Schools Central Regional Office, Leichhardt

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our Schools Financial Shared Services team. You will lead a small yet high performing unit, the Shared Financial Services Team with the provision of level 1 support in financial and administration packages and training (both face-to-face  and remote) across our 152 Catholic systemic schools

This role will identify change management issues and development of strategies to support schools in the new environment. You will manage the Shared Financial Services Team and will be closely associated with the current Team Leader to ensure smooth transition to the new systems and eventually the amalgamation of both roles into one. It will have up to eight direct reports.

About You

  • Led in a shared services education/training environment (i.e. TAFE, University, etc.)
  • Possess change management experience – (i.e. system implementation)
  • Are a hands on leader, able to guide and manage by example
  • Experienced in facilitating and developing training material and content
  • Proven experience in mentoring, nurturing and coaching staff
  • Have capacity to liaise and collaborate with a variety of directorates & stakeholders

Importantly, we are looking for someone with the skills and potential to comfortably lead this Unit into the future.

 The Role will require:

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting/Leadership Management
  • Work experience in a Finance administration related support role
  • Experience in a high volume Service desk environment preferred
  • Previous involvement in change programs, with an ability to support rapid change and hold a steady course in an ever changing environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across organisational boundaries
  • Ability to operate in a flexible, agile and innovative work environment
  • People management skills

Essential Skills and Experience: 

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Apps
  • Accounting System exposure (Technology One, SAP, etc.)
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of finance and administration functions and processes
  • Self-motivated with the strong ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train staff in finance and administration functions
  • Ability to work under pressure and within agreed deadlines
  • IT competence and an ability to promote the use of technology
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities and responsibilities with proven attention to detail
