Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is responsible for the leadership of 152 Catholic primary and secondary schools across the Archdiocese of Sydney, which educates over 70,000 students.

The role will support the Finance System Implementation across all Primary and Secondary Schools in accordance with the ONCE FMS project plan.

The position will have the following responsibilities:

  •    Supporting the wider change management strategy as well as providing recommendations on improvement to business process and organisational design
  •    Support of the design, development and delivery of project related communications and roll out activities
  •    Project planning, implementation and post implementation review and support
  •    Training of school based staff in the use of the Finance Management System (FMS) in accordance with the implementation plan

Some aspects of the role:

In conjunction with the ONCE Project and Central Finance teams:

  •    Prepare the customised training guides and other support materials
  •    Support the schools and assist in logging and escalation of any issues that arise in the course of the rollout
  •    Provide guidance for school staff, leaders, and other staff on how to use the Finance and Administration systems effectively
  •    Support diocesan professional development in line with strategic priorities
  •    Ensure schools adopt new best-practices
  •    Facilitate resolution of any technical issues using appropriate tools and systems (e.g. ServiceNow).
  •     As required, use platforms and tools to ensure effective stakeholder communications (e.g. intranet / ONCE Portal).

The successful candidate will have:

  •    Demonstrated finance or training-delivery experience, ideally in a frontline customer support capacity
  •    The ability to work on site and travel between schools is a prerequisite – own transport required
  •    Consultative, confident presentation style with the ability to successfully influence stakeholders
  •    Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders within schools and central offices
  •    Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to prioritise workload by problem severity, impact to users, and impact to the business.
  •    Ability to work both independently and with a small team to meet deadlines.
  •    Thrives in a flexible, agile and innovative work environment.
  •    Experience working with ERP Systems, strong ICT skills.

Essential Criteria

  •    Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting, Technology or a related discipline.
  •    In-depth knowledge and expertise in TechnologyOne Financials / CiAnywhere
  •    Demonstrated experience in a frontline customer support capacity
  •    Consultative, confident presentation style with the ability to successfully influence stakeholders
  •    Ability to undertake effective group and one-on-one training sessions

Desirable Criteria

  •    Experience working in project teams
  •    Experience with the implementation of a new system in a multi-site organisation
  •    Direct involvement in supporting change programs, with an ability to support rapid  change and hold a steady course in an ever-changing environment
  •    Commercial business experience
  •    Knowledge of the Catholic School system and faith
