The Executive Director of Catholic Schools invites applications for the following position:

Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is responsible for the leadership of 152 Catholic primary and secondary schools across the Archdiocese of Sydney, which educates over 70,000 students.

Reporting to the Assistant Director: System Improvement, this position is responsible for leading and supporting Sydney Catholic Schools and the regional and central office teams in implementing a contemporary Project Management approach for the system.

With a focus on systemic planning, coordination and alignment, and on supporting the successful achievement of Strategic Priorities and implementation of Our Key Improvements identified through the Strategic Improvement Plan, this role will provide executive level support, expert advice, and guidance to the Executive Director and the SCS Leadership Team through the Assistant Director of System Improvement to ensure high quality decision making, good governance and an enterprise wide approach to capability and capacity building in Project Management.

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in establishing, developing and implementing the systems, procedures and best practice project management
  • Appropriate technical background with experience in multi-discipline projects with a background in Education,preferred
  • Proven background in establishing and implementing programs and projects, including coaching/training, sourcing tools/methodologies and providing advice/guidance
  • Previous experience in running projects
  • Excellent leadership skills including communication skills at all levels, negotiation and networking skills
  • High level of interpersonal and problem solving skills

You will also possess the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

  • A university degree in Business or similar
  • Formal project management accreditation with the Australian Institute Project Management (AIPM), Project Management Institute (PMI) or similar.

 Desirable Criteria

  • An understanding of the Google platform
  • Experience in establishing change management processes and leading change
  • Knowledge of the Catholic School system and faith
